Statement Regarding Death of Kim JongIl

¡°With the death of Kim Jong Il, the time has come Christians around the world to pray that our Lord will grant wisdom to the leaders of the world who have the power to solve the disastrous situation in North Korea. That they will no longer continue to stand by and watch as the North Korean Government, time after time, break their promises while more of our North Korean brothers, sisters and orphans suffer unconscionable atrocities.

That Christians around the world will unite and stand together and pray for our suffering North Korean brothers, sisters and orphans until the shackles of bondage is finally broken.

That the leaders of North Korea will be moved by recent the democratic movements of the world and seek justice and religious freedom for their fellow countrymen.  That the sacrifices of the many Christians over the past 65 years in North Korea will finally bear fruit, and that the Cross of our Lord Jesus will once again prominently be erected in Pyongyang Square.

Until that, the member pastors of the Korean Church Coalition for North Korea Freedom and the Christian community around the world will not rest nor stop praying and with our Lord on our side, we will not fail.¡±

The Korean Church Coalition (KCC) for North Korea Freedom is composed of over 2500 Korean American Pastors and the millions of their congregational members.  KCC currently has representative strongholds located in EVERY STATE and MAJOR CITY in the United States, as well as South Korea and the many parts of the world.

KCC was formed in 2004 as a non-partisan and non-profit religious organization to bring an end to the sufferings endured by our brothers, sisters and orphans in North Korea, as well as China and other parts of the world, through non-violent means.

On September 27, 2004, KCC held its first inaugural conference at the LAX Hilton  (Click to see Greetings Letter from former President George Bush), which was attended by over 2000 Korean American Pastors. Miraculously, on that same date, in his keynote speech, Senator Sam Brownback announced the unanimous passage of the North Korean Human Rights Act.

Since that inaugural conference, regional churches of the KCC have been traveling throughout the United States and the world to speak on behalf of our North Korean Brothers and Sisters.  The Los Angeles KCC prayer conference which was held on November of 2005 at the LA Convention Center was attended by over 15,000 persons.  The Seoul Prayer Vigil held on February of 2006 at the Yongnak Presbyterian Church was attended by over 20,000 persons.  Both are considered to be the largest gatherings for the North Korean Human Rights cause to date.  On July 17, 2008, during the Beijing Olympics, KCC held simultaneous prayers vigils at 50 major cities throughout the United States.

KCC has received letters and endorsements and is coordinating efforts with leading human rights groups, individuals and lawmakers, including President Barack Obama, former President George Bush.

Since that inaugural conference, one message came through with a consistent and moral clarity, from the prayers of millions of Koreans and others in the United States and around the world: "Let the North Koreans Go Free".

KCC thanks members of our Senate and Congress for their expedient and unanimous passage of the North Korean Human Rights Reauthorization Act of 2008.  This unanimous passage sends a clear and strong message to China and North Korea that our leaders are united and stand as one, and share the same vision as the KCC.  Now, the time has come to fully implement all provisions of this bill.

On June 27- 30, 2012, over one thousand KCC pastors and second generation members of VOICE FOR FREEDOM from every major city and state in the United States and many parts of the world will once again march onto our Nation¡¯s Capitol and visit their Congressional and Senate leaders of their respective states/districts to be the voice for freedom for our suffering North Korean Brothers, Sisters and Orphans", who have no voice of their own, and proclaim:

"LET THE NORTH KOREAN ORPHANS EXPEDITIOUSLY ENTER INTO THE UNITED STATES FOR ADOPTION ".

"LET RELIGIOUS FREEDOM REIGN OVER NORTH KOREA ".

"ENACT ALL PROVISIONS OF THE NORTH KOREAN HUMAN RIGHTS REAUTHORIZATION ACT".

KCC will not rest or stop praying, until the day freedom for all North Koreans is finally won, whereever they may be.
